Lara is not a stranger to strange things, by this point in her life. She’s prepared to admit that, depending on the company she happens to be in. Trinity has led her life in some interesting directions, and Lara’s done her best to return the favour.

Still, even with the preparation of experience, returning home after a remarkably unremarkable trip to southern Africa - the majority of the mosquitos had been warded off by repellent (her stock of which Lara had, shockingly, managed to maintain possession of for the entire length of her stay), but had been bitten by an ornery horsefly - to come face to face with herself is something somewhat unusual, even in a spectrum of reference that includes possession, reanimation and centuries old conspiracies that really would prefer her demise.
