What Matters Most: fanart: Dividing Line

  • Oct. 9th, 2012 at 3:21 PM
Title: Dividing Line
Fandom: What Matters Most
Notes: My entry is inspired by "Fences," the play by August Wilson.
Summary: The backstory of the play's main characters reminded me of the relationship between Lucas Warner and his father in "What Matters Most." While the characters in "Fences" grew up poor and under much adversity, Lucas is the only son of the wealthiest man in his small Texas town. The family lives in luxury, but Lucas grows up under the thumb of his physically and emotionally abusive father. Whenever Lucas tries to assert himself and tell his father that he wants to live his own life, his father retaliates in a way that leaves Lucas drained and bereft of hope.

It wasn’t that he looked out of place … )
I have no doubt that Algernon would have got up to mischief when composing his telegrams.

A wee limerick )

Title: Keep Calm and Cable for Jeeves!
Fandom: Jeeves & Wooster
Rating: G
Notes: I've been a fan of P.G. Wodehouse for some time now, and while I enjoy all his characters, I have a special place in my heart for Bertie and Jeeves. I'm especially fond of the telegrams exchanged between Bertie and his friends — hilarious stuff, old eggs. Hilarious stuff. So hilarious, in fact, I was inspired to to create a telegram of my own.

This way, old things! )

Title: Who I Am, What I Was
Fandom: Donald Strachey Mysteries
Rating: G
Media: Mixed media, bookmaking (sort of)

From boy to man )
Fandom: Donald Strachey Mysteries
Characters: Donald Strachey/Timothy Callahan
Rating: G
Notes: This fandom is a mystery series, but it also qualifies as romance. Especially in movie fandom, Don and Timmy are a romantic, sexy couple, and that’s what I tried to convey in this mixed-media project. Also, this little story is told from Timothy’s point of view.
