Summary: One Sunday morning, Saber decides to get up early and make breakfast for everyone. Too bad she can't cook.

She had seen Shiro do this many times, how hard could it be? They had been having a lot of Western food lately, so she decided to make something simple. Saber gathered seven eggs and four potatoes and set them on the far counter. She pulled out several pots and pans and set them on the stove. After turning on one of the burners, she grabbed three eggs and cracked them over the large frying pan.

While the eggs were cooking, Saber walked back over to the potatoes. She knew they needed to be cut, but wasn’t quite sure which knife to use. She shrugged and grabbed the closest one. If there was a proper way to cut potatoes, Saber didn’t know it. She started hacking them up until they looked small enough to eat.

Suddenly she heard a noise behind her. Saber quickly turned around, gasping as she saw the eggs completely set on fire. Thinking fast, she grabbed a deep pot and ran over to the sink, filling it with water. She ran back over to the eggs and dumped the water over them. When the smoke cleared she peered into the pan; the eggs were completely burnt to a crisp.

“I guess I should watch them this time,” she muttered, tossing the eggs (and pan) into the garbage. She took out three more eggs and dropped them into another pan. As the eggs started cooking, Saber grabbed a spatula. After giving the eggs a couple flips she lifted them out of the pan and set them on a plate. She repeated the process twice more, then started on the potatoes. She cooked the potatoes and set them on the other side of the plate.

She breathed a sigh of relief. Breakfast was finally finished! Saber set the table and brought out her food. She had a few minutes before Shiro got up, so she sat down at the table.

She waited patiently for Shiro to get up (and make all kinds of shocked comments about her cooking breakfast), and then for Rin and Taiga to arrive. Once they all joined her at the table she dished out their food, taking the small remainder for herself.

Rin stared at the plate in front of her. The eggs looked rubbery, and a quick check with her fork confirmed her suspicion. The potatoes would have been a little better had they been taken off the burner a minute sooner. There was no way she could eat this and pretend she liked it.

She glanced over at Shiro, whose expression was mirroring hers. He had been brave enough to taste some of the potatoes, though she noticed that’s all he decided to try.

There was one person, however, who was greatly enjoying her meal.

“Saber, this is great! It’s delicious!” Taiga scooped up a forkful of eggs and stuffed them in her mouth.

Saber tried not to blush. “You really think so?”

“Definitely! You should cook breakfast every Sunday!” She grinned, ignoring Rin and Shiro’s looks of horror.

Saber smiled as she ate the last of her breakfast. She had no idea this was going to be such a success. She looked over at Shiro who quickly gave her a smile; she looked over at Rin who gave her a slight smirk.

Taiga went on to rant and rave about Saber’s cooking, leading Rin to believe she must have hit her head or something the night before. But she didn’t want Saber to be offended, so she grabbed some pepper and dumped it on her potatoes. She slowly took a bite and immediately washed it down with some water. Awful.

Saber excused herself to clean up the kitchen just as Taiga polished off her last bit of food.

“Want any seconds, Taiga?” Rin asked dryly, holding up her still-full plate.
