Summary: Leia dreams about Luke

Leia dreamt her brother was in trouble. She knew it was a dream because she didn’t have a brother, but her father had told her that sometimes dreams were important so she paid attention. It was dark. He was frightened. He was worried about his aunt and uncle. There was banging and shouting and what sounded like a blaster rifle. And then there was a hum that sent a chill down her spine. He ran and ran, heading out into the night, scrambling over rocks, followed by the sound of a voice. She knew that voice.

She woke suddenly, without quite knowing where she was, somehow reaching out for Ben and feeling only an echo. She was on a ship. Haja Estree had a hand on her shoulder. “Come on, little one. We’re here. Time to…time to go home.”

She ignored the epithet as she stood and straightened her green jacket, tidied her braids as much as she could, and strode towards where the ramp was descending. "I am a Princess of Alderaan," Leia said to herself sternly, but the ramp was down and she could see --

"Mama! Papa!"

She ran straight through the line of Guards and into her father's arms.

"He was so scared," Leia whispered, curled up in bed with them later that night. None of them wanted to be parted even for a moment.

"Who was, my darling?" Breha asked as she stroked their daughter's hair, but Bail already knew the answer.

"She was dark and cold and hot all at the same time," said Leia, " and he was so scared. He's afraid of what might be out there in the dark, but terrified of who's behind him. When she had me, she needed me alive, but she just wants to kill him. I know it was a dream, but it felt so real."

A chill ran down his spine. Bail thought of that frantic call to Obi-Wan, knowing he had said too much, worrying who had overheard. Breha exchanged a worried look with him over Leia's head.

"I'm sure he will be all right," he said, as much to convince himself as them.

"He's going to be fine," Leia murmured sleepily. "Ben will keep an eye on him."
