Fraser sat at the kitchen table in his father’s cabin. The roaring fire was keeping the place cosy while the snow fell outside.

Opening his journal, he began to write his latest entry. Feeling happy and more content then he had in years, he began:

Warmth is more than just the feeling of sitting by a fire for heat. It’s more than wearing the right clothing.
Warmth can come from loving someone and having them love you in return. It can be just a look in their eyes that tells you the love that they have for you.
It’s the simple things, like handing you a cup of tea without words. Yes warmth can come from the love of a person.
My warmth comes from my friends and the love I receive from one Stanley Raymond Kowalski. Also, of course, from my beloved companion Diefenbaker who is loyal in every way.
Yes my life is full of the best kind of warmth…

Capping his pen Ben moved from the table. He filled a mug with Ray’s chocolate laden coffee and took it to their bedroom where Ray was still under the covers with Dief pressed against him.

Sitting on the edge of the bed Ben placed a kiss on Ray’s cheek as he handed him the steaming mug of coffee.

Inhaling the delicious scent Ray sighed with contentment as the first sip passed his lips.

Speaking softly Ray spoke, “Thanks Ben, what did I do to get so lucky with you?”

Putting on his best deadpan face Ben replied, keeping the smile that begged to be shown from his lips. “Oh I’d say you were very wicked Ray, very wicked indeed.”

Laughing now Ray responded, “Na, I’d say lucky, very lucky. Come on into bed, it’s lovely and cosy in here.”

Without hesitation, Ben kicked off his shoes and climbed under the covers cuddling into Ray and soaking up the warmth from the love that they shared.

It didn’t take long for Ben to fall sleep, so Ray placed his now empty mug on the bedside table and wrapped his arms around the man he loved thinking the same thing that Ben had written in his journal, that warmth can come from the love of a person who loves you in return.

Soon after that thought, Ray joined Ben in sleep with Dief doing the same at their feet. They were one big happy family.
